Lockout/Tagout Programs
Controlling hazardous energy is a must for all industrial maintenance activities where the sudden release of energy can cause injury or death. The “Control of Hazardous Energy” standard, 29 CFR 1910.147, requires that all sources of energy related to a machine or piece of equipment must be identified and controlled with a “lockout/tagout” program so as to prevent the unexpected energization, start-up or release of stored or residual energy.
